Are you considering a move to Villanova, Pennsylvania?
I consider Villanova to be the heart of the Main Line with central access to other Main Line towns like Wayne, Bryn Mawr, Gladwyne, and others. Besides this, you can access Rte 476 and Rte 76 within moments giving you a convenienent commute to Center City Philadelphia, the state of Delaware, Bridges to New Jersey, both the Northeast Extension and the Pennslyvania Turnpike, plus so many more major road arteries.
Furthermore, the area provides a surplus of parks and trails with it’s fair share of open space and green areas. It sits on the line of both Montgomery and Delaware counties and is close to national parks, state parks, and famous attractions including, but not limited to: Valley Forge National Park, Ridley Creek State Park, and Longwood Gardens which is located in neighboring Chester County.
Living in Villanova, PA means having access to an enjoyable quality of life whether you are a cultural connoisseur, have a love for nature, and/or just looking for a permiere place to live which is accomodating to both family and independant living.
I will not dive too much into the history since you must experience the area to appreciate it’s rich past. One of the most exciting facts I know about the area is its connection to George Washington. Through the Revolutionary War, the area was a no-man’s land between Philadelphia to the east and Valley Forge to the west. It was the site of several skirmishes between George Washington’s Continental Army and the British. One of the inns along the way, the “Sorrel Horse”, is said to have sheltered General Washington and General Lafayette during the encampment at Valley Forge, 1777-1778. The inn still stands today on the campus of the Agnes Irwin School.
